Check out Whit’s reel on Maria’s altar at our No Kings 3 protest
Hi Everyone,
As California continues to carefully count our ballots, voter turnout is now 29.9% for California and 36.6% for Contra Costa County. This is roughly consistent with turnout for past non-presidential primary races. I find it a bit sad and frustrating that so few eligible people vote, but I’m trying to look at it as an opportunity. We need to get more Democrats and Independents to vote in the upcoming general election!
So much is riding on how Democrats do in November. I want to do everything I can to take back the House and Senate and to make our majorities as big as possible. Will you help?
Taking action will help save our democracy, enabling us to create a country in which people can co-exist, provide each other with mutual aid, and nurture equality for all.
But taking action will also help you feel better! I look forward to the sense of community that I always feel at the postcard meetups, phone banks, protests, trainings, and community meetings. Just doing what I can with a like-minded group of people makes me feel more hopeful. Action is the antidote to despair.
To quote Jessica Craven, “We may tire; occasionally our spirits may flag, but our actions won’t cease until we’ve turned the tide. That’s all that matters. And it’s why we will win.”
